“I apply the messages to my relationships and everyday life.”

Rachel Consalvo and her husband

New Church Live has been blessed by the recent marriage of Rachel and Phil Consalvo. Rachel discovered NCL after a long struggle to find a place to call home.

It began in her teenage years when her family situation became toxic. She put herself and her situation on the line via social media, and her former neighbors and childhood family friends reached back to find her. She decided “I’m going to do this… I’m going to move in [with them],” and she started a new chapter in her life. Many of you may remember how, on Mother’s Day last year, she stepped onto the stage at NCL to tell her story with her “new mom.”

“I look forward to going to church on Sundays now.”

Deneen overcame her initial trepidation because she had a feeling that she was destined to be Rachel’s mom. She spoke about bearing a lot of love, and taking a risk that now seems like an easy choice. “It was scary… Can I love her like I love my daughters?… I am her mom, and she has two incredible sisters as well.” They endured criticism and unkind words, but in the end her message of courage is “don’t let go.”

Now with her adopted family by her side, Rachel both contributes to the NCL community and feels “extremely inspired because of the messages that are talked about.”

“Pastor Chuck took the time to really get to know us and made our wedding so personal because of it… I look forward to going to church on Sundays now because of what it has done for me spiritually, emotionally, physically, and mentally.”
