We hold, deep within, a tender, vulnerable love. A Divine spark as it were.
For many of us, that spark lies deeply hidden, covered over by the pedestrian yet pressing concerns of life in the 21st century.
And the quiet call remains … to return to that forgotten place where that spark lives. To re-center our lives within that gentle flame.
I think that is what Christmas does to our spirit. It pulls us gently towards this great re-centering in this tender light.
The journey, if we choose to go beyond the surface of the season, is challenging. No question there. We have to be willing to allow the season’s song to capture us, to disrupt us, to remind us with a force so irresistible that life moves forward in new patterns of generous living as the new year unfolds.
As we rediscover Christ, forever born anew, we will rediscover our true selves joined by a gentleness and humility hard to capture in words. Blessed by God. Filled with peace, hope, joy and love.
I invite you to join us on this Christmas journey Sundays at 10:30 AM. It is a good journey!
