When Names Change

In the biblical story held in common by Judaism, Islam and Christianity, the patriarch of all changes his name from Abram to Abraham. Our names in a sense change too. What might that change be? The spiritual shifts people often experience in their middle age need to transition from a willful mindset to a more receptive attitude towards God’s calling. We can try a softer perspective and a deep willingness to be open to God and others.
