Control or Contribution

I greet you this morning, friends, to sit with the promise that God does not hand us control; God walks with us and asks for contribution. I name the tragic gap, that aching space between how life should be and how it is, and I invite us to meet it humbly, step by step, by increasing number of people taking a small step to make the world a better place. The Lord safeguards our freedom and reason, so I keep asking, what can I contribute here? This is how we matter. Quietly. Together. Contribution, the name of the game. Even a “control enthusiast” can let love lead, honoring the God-given autonomy we claim for ourselves and insist upon for others, as heaven’s life flows through uses and service. Dear friends, may you have a day filled with contribution over control.
