Opera Lenta

Description

This morning I reflect on Opera Lenta, an Italian phrase for slow, heartfelt work. In New Church language, this is use: the place where our unique gifts come alive as we offer something real to others and to God. When the urgent lists, emails, and demands begin to crowd in, I invite us to pause and ask what truly matters. Pope Francis offers a beautiful guide: “Give oneself to others, eliminating distances, dwelling in littleness, and living the reality of one’s everyday life.” This is exquisitely divine. Make room this week for the quieter work of an open heart.
