Choose Opportunity Over Fear

I begin this day with a choice: will I take counsel of my fears, or will I receive the opportunity the Lord has placed before me? “This is the day that the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.” To rejoice can also mean to thrive, and I want to thrive in today as it is, where it is, trusting that the Lord’s providence is already at work in the ordinary details ahead. Fear multiplies when I keep feeding it. Inspiration opens my eyes. May we see God everywhere, remember that “the gate of heaven is everywhere,” and find the grace to be still enough to enter this day with courage, gratitude, and hope.
