Finding Contentment: A Weekend of Enough
30th, October 2026Description
What if we give ourselves permission to have a weekend of enough? There is always another person to see, another dinner to plan, another good thing to do. The list keeps growing. This weekend, I invite us to pause and consider the quiet wisdom in Jesus’ prayer: “Give us this day our daily bread.” The manna in the wilderness speaks to our own struggle with wanting more, and Swedenborg’s understanding of this story invites us to trust the Lord’s daily care and find peace in what we receive. Gratitude has room to grow here. So does rest. Perhaps we read a book, spend an unhurried evening at home, or willingly embrace a little boredom. This is the beauty of the Sabbath: making room to breathe, loosen our grip on the endless accumulation of activities, and simply be. “Be still and know that I am God.” For today, enough.
