Give Up Predicting. Start Living.

2nd, January 2026

Description

As we step into a new year, I find myself thinking about how much energy we pour into predictions and how little peace they actually give us. We love certainty, yet life keeps reminding us that both heartbreak and blessing arrive unannounced. That is simply how it is. The crystal ball is always foggy. Scripture names it beautifully: “for now we see in a mirror dimly, but then we shall see face to face.” What grounds me is what Swedenborg so often points to, that real spiritual life is not lived on the surface where storms rage, but in the deeper places where the Lord meets us through use, love, and relationship. Faith grows face to face. In shared work. In walking with someone who needs company, or letting ourselves be walked with. Christianity is a relational faith because heaven itself is relational. So instead of chasing predictions, I am choosing to live. To roll up my sleeves. To double down on the relationships that bring joy, growth, connection, and even challenge. This is where deep peace forms. This is where God is. And this is how we step into the year ahead with courage, curiosity, and a quiet trust that life, fully lived, is enough.
