Paying It Back. Paying It Forward

This morning I’m reflecting on one of God’s greatest gifts: freedom. It’s easy to think of freedom as simply doing whatever we please, but Swedenborg reminds us it is much deeper. Real freedom is given by God so we can believe what is true and do what is kind. That freedom often begins in uncomfortable places like walking into an awkward social moment, burdened by worry. Yet even there, God’s gift is waiting. When I remember that my freedom is from Him, I can exercise it, sometimes haltingly, by choosing connection over fear, service over self, and kindness over hesitation. Freedom is never just for me. It is a present meant to be received with gratitude and passed along in love.
