We Will See What We Want to See
24th, February 2026Description
As we begin a new week, I find myself reflecting on a simple, searching truth: we really do see what we want to see… the good and the bad. It is easy to point outward and say others are stuck in their perspective, yet the deeper work is turning inward and asking what our own hearts desire. Swedenborg writes, “Truth never teaches anyone anything… only the desire for truth does” (Secrets of Heaven 3066). Truth can wash against the ears like waves of sound, yet it only takes root when a good feeling prepares the soil. So what are we planting? If we fix people in a single story, they can scarcely grow in our sight. But if we look for the good in the neighbor, and serve that good from love, something shifts. Freedom lives in the intention of the soul. We can step into this day determined to see blessings, to notice beauty, to catch the quiet miracles unfolding all around us. And when we see them, we begin to become them. So I invite you to pause. Breathe. Then go into the world with holy intention. See what you want to see. Let it be grace.
