Life Often Self Corrects

Life has a beautiful, self-correcting nature—our choices shape our outcomes, reinforcing either good or poor decisions over time. Swedenborg teaches that we are not punished by God, but by the natural consequences of our own actions (Secrets of Heaven 2395). Just as dishonesty in finances erodes trust, so too does a lack of transparency in our spiritual lives. But when we commit to honesty, integrity, and transparency, life rewards us in ways we cannot yet see. When we just get into the habit of doing the right thing, it really ends up coming back to us in spades. Choose wisely, lean into good decisions, and trust that they will lead to lasting security—both in relationships and in our spiritual journey.
