Here’s how I’m seeing it with you today: we’re learning scales so we can play music. I say it like this at New Church Live, “love is always first in end. Truth is always first in time,” and that order reshapes how we see everything from doctrine to breakfast. We study the Word, learn commandments, build a sturdy framework, then the Lord moves us into love where “ultimately, truth disappears… except as the median that transmits the light of goodness,” so that truth lives inside neighborly love and conscience starts to sing. A child brings burnt toast and I smile. The truth says the toast is burnt. Love sees the gift, the thought, the tiny hands. Same with the meme that makes me grin: no adult refuses a toy phone offered by a three-year-old. We answer because love sees deeper than appearances. Practice that today.
