God as Advisor or Manager?

3rd, December 2025

Description

I speak today from a place of quiet gratitude as we gather for a few minutes of morning calm, watching how the Lord moves with an almost tender patience in every corner of life. Human freedom tends to push back against a view of God where God is “in charge.” God is much more gentle than that … much more aware of gentle guidance. Something in us softens when we remember that God does not loom over us as a manager perched at the top of a hierarchy. He shows up more like a wise advisor who bends rather than breaks, always nudging us toward the “original blessing” that shines through Genesis long before any shadow of sin appears. I hold close the beautiful teaching that “God arranges everything in divine order” and that when this order touches our humanity it fills us with “spiritual and heavenly goodness.” That truth from Secrets of Heaven 3017 echoes through everything. Deep within us lies a piece of heaven still awake and bright, and even when we drift or cover it over with fear or fatigue, the Lord keeps whispering gentle invitations. Try this. Lean a little that way. Come home. Spiritual life becomes the art of discovering what already lives within, the kingdom that Jesus said is here, now, inside. And as we practice that discovery, we start to practice what actually is. A simple and astonishing thing.
