Injecting Goodwill into Everyday Life

13th, January 2026

Description

I invite you into a simple exercise today, simple and hard at the same time, because spiritual life is rarely just theology in the abstract. Theology matters. It shapes how we think about God, and how we let that thinking reshape us into who we were created from all time to be. Real integrity feels like coming home. And one of the quiet engines of that return is goodwill. Wishing well for others. With all our heart. Drawing from Secrets of Heaven 3033, I reflect on how “goodwill forces us to think, decide, and act in keeping with itself,” how it flows into our thoughts like a kind of inner GPS, adapting itself to what we know and gently pressing us toward wiser choices. This matters most in ordinary relationships, in the run of the mill rubs where hurt is real and opinions harden. The invitation is not to excuse wrongdoing or abandon accountability, but to imagine what happens when goodwill gets injected right into those opinions. Three small wishes. Three quiet prayers. No agenda. Just a sincere hope for another’s growth, their healing, their connection with God. It is exhausting to live fueled by anger. I feel that weariness myself. I want a better way to live. Goodwill offers one. From there we slow down, breathe, grow still, and remember. We pray. We bless. And we step back into the world a little freer, a little softer, still honest, still grounded, but guided by something deeper.
