Finding Peace Beyond Circumstances

How can we find the elusive peace that is beyond our circumstances? I invite you to reconsider where you locate peace in your life. Too often, we place it out there in shifting circumstances. However, true peace is something alive within us. We explore the truth that peace is the very essence of heaven, and begin to see shalom as a deep wholeness that can hold everything we carry. At the same time, prayer begins to shift in meaning. It becomes less about answers and more about encounter. In that space, we quietly realize that “all will be well in all manner.”

And yet, when we stop arranging life like puzzle pieces in hopes of finally earning calm, something opens. A deeper trust begins to form. As a result, we discover a steadiness rooted in God’s presence within. Swedenborg teaches that heavenly peace flows from the union of love and wisdom in the Lord, and that this peace settles into us as we turn inward and allow divine love to reorder our hearts (Heaven and Hell 284–290). From there, unconditional love starts to grow. It is no longer tied to outcomes. Instead, it flows freely. Even in overwhelming seasons, we can say, here is life, and by God’s grace, I am held.
