What Does a Humble Heart Look Like?

Humility opens the room where God begins to move. In this 10 Minutes of Morning Calm, I am inviting us to notice two gifts New Church theology holds together: humility of the intellect, which says, “we don’t have it all figured out,” and humility of the heart, where love softens the edges of how we see each other. Swedenborg writes that “Love was the most important element of faith,” and that love gives faith its sight. So today we breathe, listen, and ask what changes when we seek solutions with empathy, not with agenda. A humble heart looks underneath the hood. It wonders where someone feels unseen, unloved, or uncared for. Then grace has somewhere to land. Space for God and space for change go absolutely hand-in-hand.
