What Unlocks the Door to Spiritual Life?

What unlocks the door to a deeper spiritual life? I keep coming back to this surprising answer from Secrets of Heaven: “Neighborly kindness leads our thoughts to the truth.” That turns so much upside down. Truth matters, doctrine matters, Scripture matters, but kindness has a logic of its own, and God fills that kindness with light. When we begin with simple, grace-filled kindness, we stop charging into life as a righteous warrior with a sword of truth and start asking better questions. How do I help? What does love require here? What does compassion look like when someone struggles with addiction, or when honesty feels hard? Kindness is what unlocks the door. So today, I invite us to trust kindness, keep the edges soft, stay curious, and let God use revelation, prayer, experience, and conversation to guide us into truth.
