Dump Them?
29th, July 2026Description
“Dump them” has become a familiar answer when relationships feel annoying, toxic, or difficult, but it can also tempt us to decide too quickly who belongs and who does not. Yes, some situations require real distance and healthy boundaries, but Jesus offers a more searching example at the Last Supper, sharing the table with Thomas the doubter, Judas the betrayer, and Peter the denier. He shows us how to be with people. Swedenborg teaches that charity is love made visible in the life we live, so faith finds its truest expression in patient presence, mercy, and useful care for our neighbor. Just be with them. It can be messy, frustrating, and deeply rewarding, yet this is where we begin to learn the great gift of unconditional love.
