We Are Always More Than Our Worse Mistake

To err is human. We know this. But with others it is a truth we often forget. So for today, please remember for yourself or for another: we are always more than our worst day.
When we lose our cool, make a devastating mistake, or carry the weight of public shame, God still sees a whole person with the freedom to turn, grow, and begin again. Swedenborg reminds us that the Lord’s work is always reformation and relationship, never the cold satisfaction of placing someone beneath us. Jesus calls us away from hierarchy and back toward one another, because the only difference between us up here and people down there may be that our mistakes never became public. If someone is isolating after a painful failure, find a way to connect. Stay in relationship. We’re always more than our worst day.
