Remembering 9/11 – 25 Years Later

I remember the shock of 9/11, and I invite us to hold its losses with honesty and care. One grieving husband said, “I just want my wife back,” a reminder that no compensation can reach the deepest places of human sorrow. Yet remembrance also calls us toward a 9/12 world, where we keep choosing compassion, justice, mercy, forgiveness, and the rule of law. Swedenborg teaches that love for the neighbor takes shape in the good we actually do, and every person carries the image and likeness of God. So we grieve, we pray, and we do the hard, courageous work of strengthening the bonds of humanity.
