Bridges Span Gaps
30th, January 2026Description
Bridges span gaps. That is what they do. This morning I sit with you in a world where bridge building feels painfully hard, speaking as a pastor and as a person who keeps discovering how wide some gaps have become. Some are simply too wide right now, and that honesty matters. Still, there are places where connection remains possible, and that is where we begin. Every real bridge goes both ways. It asks for listening, patience, and reciprocity, never an agenda disguised as love. Jesus shows this path, moving among Romans and peasants, widows and soldiers, asking far more questions than answers and placing relationship first. We do not start with the Golden Gate Bridge. We start small. A word. A pause. A simple act done with care. As Mother Teresa said, we do small things with great love, remembering that reconciliation, not victory, moves the world forward.
