Heaven is Near

In today’s reflection, let’s explore the beautiful truth that heaven is near, not just a distant promise, but a living presence that can be experienced here and now. Drawing on a powerful passage from Secrets of Heaven (§2479), we can reflect on how letting go of the surface-level anxieties and reconnecting with the memories that touch us most deeply allows our awareness to “soar toward spiritual and heavenly ideas.” As we move from fear and overthinking into love and purpose, we open ourselves to moments of heaven, simple, grace-filled glimpses of God’s peace and joy. As Maya Angelou said, “Saving heaven for a far-off day shows a lack of gratitude.” My hope is that we each recognize those moments, live from them, and begin to feel how close heaven truly is.
