Letting It In
30th, October 2025Description
Here’s how I share it from my heart this morning: I invite us to let God in. Whichever phrase you are most at home with gets to a key truth of life. Let’s remember Jesus’ gentle promise, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock… I will come in and have dinner with them,” and practice a simple spiritual hack for today: drop the if and when. I watch what happens when we welcome God’s redemption rather than chasing self-improvement. Joy rises. Identity clarifies. Humility softens the edges. Swedenborg puts it plainly in Secrets of Heaven 2964, “the value of redemption is equal to our acceptance,” which means as we open the door, the Lord grows us into who we uniquely are. We stop treating love like a deal and start trusting what we already know in our bones: Love transforms. It’s not a transaction. Even our worries about money lose their grip, because happiness does not hang on possessions; heavenly joy springs from a changed heart and a life of use. So we breathe, we let go of the ifs and whens, and we choose joy, gratitude, and steadfast love today. Hearts of stone becoming hearts of flesh, right here, right now.
