Step Away from Your Thoughts

Today I’m reflecting on what I call the art of self-forgetting. Our minds are wonderful servants. Terrible masters. How can we step away from our thoughts? There’s a quiet beauty in letting go of the endless chatter that fills our minds. When we surrender the need to control, space opens for contribution, for listening, for presence. As Swedenborg reminds us, genuine peace flows in when self-concern fades and love for others takes its place (Heaven and Hell §54). The mind serves us well when it serves love, but it binds us when it grasps for power or certainty. So take a breath. Step away from the noise. And let your heart remember why it came into this day…to connect, to serve, to simply be.
