The Number of Apples in the Seed

11th, July 2025

Description

This morning, I’m reflecting on the quiet power of seeds and how the Bible and Swedenborg both use them as profound metaphors for spiritual life. In Secrets of Heaven 2848, we read that “seeds symbolize those members of the human race who possess the faith that comes out of love for others.” That line opens something beautiful. Faith isn’t about certainty or success; it’s about planting goodness from a place of love, even when nothing makes sense. We’re not promised an easy life, and I’m not here to preach a prosperity gospel. But I do believe God offers abundance in the invisible harvest that grows when we trust Him and act with kindness. You can count the seeds in an apple, but not the apples in a seed. Our job is simple: plant good seeds, walk humbly, trust deeply. And maybe, just maybe, from those small acts of love, a kingdom quietly grows.
