What is the Final Crisis?
30th, May 2025Description
There’s a moment. Quiet, raw, and honest. When the event has passed but the ache remains. That’s where the real crisis often begins. In the silence afterward, where hopelessness creeps in. In this message, let’s reflect on the Easter story’s three days. Friday’s heartbreak, Saturday’s waiting, Sunday’s hope. And how they mirror our own emotional landscapes. Hopelessness, I believe, is the final battle. It isn’t something we solve; it’s something we pass through. As Swedenborg wrote, “Temptations exist for the purpose of breaking down the dominion of self-love and love for the world” (Secrets of Heaven §8403). It’s in these darkest places that God prepares the soil for new life. We don’t rush through the pain, but sit patiently, asking only, “What’s the next right thing?” That may be a text. A cup of coffee. A breath. Small things, yes. But with great love, they shift the tide. That’s how we make space for dawn.
