When Fear Silences Living
19th, September 2025Description
Here’s my heart this morning: I invite us to notice how fear hijacks all the other emotions, how we get all feared up, and how quickly love, care, and empathy get shoved off the table when alarms blare. I see it in the culture, even in marketing that aims straight at anxiety to capture attention. Yet Scripture and Swedenborg point to another path. We see dimly in this life, so when the mind is a cave of shadows, we reach with good. Goodness is the way to reach into that cave. Small service. A casserole. A note. A call. And watch what happens. Anger loosens. Resentment thins. Good enlivens. Today I choose the simple work of love. “We can do no great things. All we can do is small things with great love.”
