Why Smart People Feel Unhappy
18th, November 2025Description
In today’s 10 Minutes of Morning Calm I explore why smart people feel unhappy. Many bright souls carry that question quietly. I look at how desire keeps stretching and how envy never settles. We get a million widgets and soon want two million. As my friend Peter says, once we get fried shrimp we just want more fried shrimp. These little moments reveal how quickly our wants expand.
From a New Church lens I share how God reshapes desire at the roots. Divine love turns our attention outward toward connection and service, which softens the very patterns behind why smart people feel unhappy. In that space the joy of another becomes our own joy. Real happiness grows there, quietly and steadily. Today we pray, “Okay, God, please shape my desires,” and let Him guide our bright minds into a gentler, more open heart.
