Going to Those Places
5th, March 2026Description
We know certain places and certain people where we can find our better/ truer selves. Our job? Going to those places, and being with those people, where we “very easily” come into our “higher, better selves” and feel “aligned with our soul.” Drawing on the Celtic idea of “thin places” and Swedenborg’s insight from Secrets of Heaven that true communion with the Lord is a living “perception of what is good and true,” let’s explore how certain spaces and certain souls help heaven feel close, intimate, almost touchable. Sometimes it is a shoreline, a quiet room, a family gathering. Sometimes it is a person whose presence alone steadies us, because “it’s not the answers that they’re giving. It’s the spirit that they’re living in.” That spirit can “change the consciousness of a room,” awaken love and wisdom in us, and gently bring us home. And the invitation is beautifully simple. Go there. Be with them. Then, as best you can, become that kind of presence for someone else.
