Church Is More Than a Place We Go
13th, August 2026Description
I sit with the simple, searching truth that church is more than somewhere I visit. It becomes the place I come from when I carry its higher principles into the ordinary moments of my day, coming from love and the better angels of our nature. Jesus meets baptism in the wilderness, and the Good Samaritan finds holiness on a roadside, reminding me that spiritual growth and genuine care often arise far from the places I expect them. In the New Church understanding, faith becomes living when it takes shape in use, in practical love for the neighbor before me. So I ask myself, “Can you allow your life to be interrupted today?” A text from someone who needs me, a stranger’s struggle, a small chance to help can become sacred ground. I take a breath, remember one little thing, and let God lead me into the beauty and grace waiting within an interrupted plan.
