A Night of Remembrance: A Special Gathering

This year, loss has been close for so many of us. It has been close for Susan and me too, after losing my father and my mother-in-law within weeks of each other. I notice how often we search for closure, for reasons, for something clean and finished, and how rarely grief offers that. What stays instead are the feelings, the memories, the muscle memories of love and unfinished words. So we gather in person, around food and conversation, to share what remains. There is no agenda. No fixing. Just listening. Swedenborg reminds us that heaven flows into human connection, and I see that every time people in grief instinctively draw near to one another. I don’t have the answers. I do trust that something sacred happens when we carry this together. Come with an open heart.
