Be Still and Know
24th, July 2025Description
This morning, I find myself beside a still river in England, reflecting on the spiritual power of stillness. Swedenborg wrote that peace is the very essence of heaven – and here, in the hush of early light, I see it. When the waters are calm, they mirror the world with clarity. So it is with our lives. Turbulence blurs. Stillness reveals. At our core is a quiet knowing, a God-given depth that trusts completely, even when circumstances don’t cooperate. That stillness, that inner place of trust, is always available. True peace comes when we surrender to the deeper current beneath life’s waves. “Be still and know that I am God.” We’re invited to enter that space, if only for a few minutes a day. In doing so, we begin to see more clearly, love more freely, and rest more deeply in the peace that never leaves.
