Faith is a Gift, not a Weapon

I welcome you into Morning Calm as we sit with a simple, liberating truth: faith is a gift, not a weapon. I stand in my own tradition while honoring yours, because we’re always remembering that all of us are on this journey toward the transcendent. Today I hold up Swedenborg’s insight from Secrets of Heaven 2927 on Abraham who “rose up,” a picture of faith rising within us. When faith rises, the fruit shows up in “gladness and joy” that invites rather than divides. Worship breathes from the inside out – heart and actions woven together – because faith without love turns into an idol we hold far away. So we breathe, we pray, we listen. God holds every story. God has everybody’s journey. I offer faith as a gracious gift, lived out in kindness, truth spoken from love, and a life that quietly attracts by its joy.
