Finding Inner Peace in Difficult Times
20th, October 2026Description
Life feels upside down sometimes. The worries are real, and each of us carries them differently. Yet as we grow spiritually, we begin to recognize another reality within us: a quiet place where God’s peace can take root. Today I reflect on Etty Hillesum, a young Jewish woman whose writings reveal an extraordinary capacity for love, beauty, and inner peace amid the horrors of the Holocaust. Her example invites us to notice the small joys that still hold meaning. “There is this great quiet in us.” This echoes Swedenborg’s understanding that peace flows from the Lord into our deepest selves and gradually shapes how we live. Our circumstances still need our attention. So does our inner life. Dear friends, join me as we breathe, pray, and consider how compassion, connection, and trust in God help us meet a troubled world from a more peaceful place.
