Holy Curiosity: A Practical Path to Spiritual Freedom
3rd, June 2026Description
Freedom is one of God’s great gifts to us, and today I want to explore how we actually live into it. Swedenborg writes in Secrets of Heaven §3158 that “without freedom, truth never produces anything,” and then gives us this beautiful line: “It is a well-motivated desire for truth that creates freedom.” That sounds to me like holy curiosity. When we move through life trying only to prove our point, we end up trapped inside “the echo chamber of my own head.” But when we come with a genuine desire to discover what is true, our world opens. Our relationships open. Our souls open. Curiosity does not require talent or certainty. It asks for humility, courage, and a willingness to be taught by other people, by the world around us, and most of all by God. So today, friends, go into the day free. Be curious. “Be still and know.” Let God show you something new.
