How has your relationship with time changed?

Even as the years unfold, something holy stirs in the way we experience time. In today’s reflection, I share a tender story from Finding Chika – a book about loss, love, and how suffering reshapes our perception of time. There’s a moment when Mitch Albom writes that he had to let his sense of time shift to match his daughter Chika’s sense of awe. That line stuck with me. It reminds me of Swedenborg’s insight that time in heaven “is nothing but states of life” (Heaven and Hell §162), and how spiritual maturity is marked by presence, not minutes. Mitch Albom told this story of taking Chika to Disney World and amidst all the grandeur, what delighted her most was a simple duck waddling from a pond. That’s awe. That’s where God shows up. This message is a call to slow down…really slow down – so we can begin to align our pace with the wonder already around us. When we do, time becomes sacred again.
