Is Life Fair?
10th, June 2025Description
When we face the question, “Is life fair?” the honest answer is no. But the deeper spiritual reality is that life remains profoundly good. Today, let’s reflect on how unfairness isn’t a failure of the universe but part of its divine design, not toward perfection, but toward “tov” – a Hebrew word for goodness that holds both joy and struggle in one wholeness. It’s not about pretending hardship doesn’t exist, but seeing, with faith as attentiveness, the “little stars in the dark sky” that guide us through it. Swedenborg puts it beautifully: faith is the “eye of love” (Divine Love and Wisdom §404), not a checklist of beliefs but a way of actively noticing God’s presence in the brokenness. This is where regeneration begins…not by demanding fairness, but by choosing to see and live from the goodness that undergirds even the messiest parts of life.
