Living with Multiple Truths

Description

Today I invite us into the gentle truth that we often live in multiple truths at once. This isn’t to say there isn’t a singular Divine Truth, but as we navigate both our spiritual and natural lives, we find ourselves standing in different truths at different times. In Secrets of Heaven 2786, Swedenborg says that “many states, each different from the next, can coexist in one person.” Whether it’s loving someone we can’t live with or seeing life through different lenses like a birdwatcher notices birds others miss, our truths shape what we can see and what we can’t. This understanding calls us into compassion. We can honor that others may be living a different truth in this moment, and we can gently keep turning ourselves back toward that “true north”. The Divine, eternal truth that unites us all.
