Problems and Opportunities
8th, September 2026Description
Life can send us down rabbit holes of anxiety, fear, and catastrophizing, yet Jeremiah gives us a steadier place to stand: “My plan is to give you a hope and a future.” I know how hard it can be to hold that truth when the small things feel huge, whether it is a delayed flight, an unanswered question, or the future our minds have already turned into a disaster. Still, the God of the big things is also the God of the small things, because the small things are embedded within the big things. Each problem can become a spiritual opportunity to breathe, be present, and reground ourselves in the confidence that God holds the world and holds us. As Miroslav Volf says, “Hope is love stretching into the future.” May that love loosen the grip of anxiety and help us trust that, somehow, we are going to be okay.
