The Love and Trust Combo

I’m inviting us to practice the “love and trust combination,” because when they grow together the church in our heart grows too. Imagine getting a flat tire at 2AM… Who would you call? The one who shows up is the one you love and trust, and that simple truth ripples into community. Swedenborg teaches it plainly: “Love for others forms their foundation… they all seek what is good… for the sake of their neighbor, the common welfare, the Lord’s kingdom, and above all the Lord… where love for others is lacking, so is faith” (Secrets of Heaven 2910). I feel that. When trust thins, love struggles, and relationships wither. When trust deepens, love flowers. Jesus keeps saying “follow me,” never “worship me,” which tells me God walks with us in mutuality. Today I choose values over moods. Let’s breathe the quiet prayer, “Be still, and know that I am God,” and let that love and trust cycle begin again, for our neighbors, for our shared good, and for the God who holds it all.
