What Makes a Community Stronger?

A more perfect community becomes possible when we welcome many distinct voices and join them in a shared purpose, like an orchestra where every instrument adds its own sound to the same music. In Secrets of Heaven, we are told that “the more people there are in a single community and the more united they are, the more perfect they are.” Diversity gives us more perspectives, more humanity, and more ways to serve, while shared aims give that richness direction. Like a favorite restaurant where people, purpose, and atmosphere simply belong together, every heavenly community has its own strength, yet all contribute to a larger good. This is the prayer we are called to live: “as in heaven, so upon the Earth.” We create stronger communities when we welcome one another’s differences and row together toward purposes that bring life and service to the world.
