The Miracle of Slow and Patient
14th, May 2026Description
In our lives, patience allows for experiences to grow into meaning. In this 10 Minutes of Morning Calm, I reflect on “the miracle of slow and patient” in a culture that keeps pushing us toward more, faster, next. When life becomes “experience, experience, experience,” we lose the deeper rhythm where “experience [can] accumulate into meaning.” From a New Church perspective, our lives hold both a natural level and a spiritual level, and the spiritual life grows when we slow down enough to let God, conscience, prayer, and real conversation shape what we experience. A quiet dinner around forgiveness and trust reminds me that two hours of honest connection can carry more weight than five hours of constant input. So today, I invite us to step out of the binge-watch psychology for a moment, return to patience, and make room for experience, reflection, meaning.
