The Wisdom of Small Things

22nd, April 2026

Description

Much of life comes down to the small things … the small acts of kindness that make the world go. In today’s reflection, I invite you into “the wisdom of small things.” Real spirituality lives in ordinary moments we often overlook. Swedenborg teaches that “a kind of marriage has to take place between our will and intellect when we are being reborn,” where love and understanding begin to move as one (Secrets of Heaven 3090–3091). That inner union shows up in simple choices. Take a walk to be present to those you love. Offer a small kindness, like placing books in a neighborhood box. Each act can shine when “whatever lies lower… serves what is higher.” Even small inconveniences can serve a greater purpose. Over time, these choices reshape us. What once felt like effort becomes joy, like music flowing from a practiced heart. So today, choose one small act. Let it serve something higher. This is how God gently leads us home.
